Help & Contact

Common questions answered below. If you still need help, reach out at the bottom of this page.

What do I need to use AbletonGPT?

You need Ableton Live 10 or later (any edition), a Claude API key from Anthropic, and macOS or Windows. The app runs alongside Ableton — no plugins to install.

How does it connect to Ableton?

AbletonGPT communicates with Ableton Live over a local connection on your machine. Nothing is sent to external servers — your session data stays entirely on your computer.

Do I need to keep paying for a Claude API key?

Yes. AbletonGPT uses Claude as the AI backend. You bring your own API key, which means you pay Anthropic directly for usage. Most production sessions cost just a few cents.

What can it actually do in Ableton?

Create and manage tracks, build drum patterns, write chord progressions and melodies, add effects and sends, control automation, adjust BPM and time signatures, and more — all from natural language.

Does it work with any Ableton project?

Yes. You can use it on new or existing projects. It reads your current session state and makes changes based on your instructions.

What is the refund policy?

All sales are final. Due to the nature of digital products, we do not offer refunds or exchanges after purchase.

Is my music data stored or uploaded anywhere?

No. All Ableton session data stays on your local machine. We never upload, store, or access your audio files or project data.

Does it work with third-party plugins?

Yes — AbletonGPT can control any third-party plugin whose macro parameters are mapped to an Ableton Rack. It can also load plugins onto tracks and adjust basic parameters. We have some exciting things coming soon for deeper plugin integration.
